My Study in Denmark

climate changes is a reality and some of the best evidence come from mountain areas over the last century glaciers in european alps and caucasus have shrunk to half thier size while in africa only 8% of the kenya`s largest glacier remains if current trends continue by the end of these century all the world`s glaciers will vanish including the natiaonal glacier park in the united state

millions if not billions of people depends directly or indirectly on these natural water storage facilities for drinking water agriculture.
mountain are early indicators of climate changes many climatologist believe that the changes occuring in mountain ecosystem provide an early glimpse of what may come to pass in lowland enviroments. for these reason it is vital that the biological and physicol compoment of a mountain should be strictly monitored and studied.

people living in most areas of the mountain are use to the fact that climate changes in mountain are from year to year, mounth to mounth, day to day at different aititude and even on slope with different exposure.in future climate changes may increase climate variability beyond the limits of past experince most critical and extreme events are likely to become more common and more intence in mountain area.
the melting of glaciers may provide more water for both mountain people and those living downstream.but as the glacier disappear and snowlines move upward river flows are likely to change and lack of water may become an increasing problem higher temperature will mean more rain than snow, raising the risk of flooding of both mountain and lowlands farmers.
the trend will also affect hydropower generations, forestry and water dependent ecosystem such as wetlands.
climate changes may bring local and regional benefits in the mountain higher temperature may mean that trees produce higher yields of timber and that crops can be grown at higher altitude.

until recently economical, political or social changes such as globalization were taken to be the main drivers of changes of mountains. today it is increasingly that climate changes and it consequences are likely to have similar or even greater impacts. as a result there is a is a growing body of adaptive action relative to the climate changes on mountains.these include tecnological measures such as prevention of glaciers lake in the himalaya orsafeguards against slope instability due to permafrost decay in the alps and northern europe.
adaptation willhave to be supported by mitigation measures that addresses the root causes of climate changes:the emission of green houses and other substances that may cause global warning.key issue are the reduction of of these emissions and h improvements of energy efficiency.promision recents action include

-the promotion of energy saving building in the alps
_the developement of emission-free energy production such as medium size or micro-hydropower as promoted in indian china and nepal

The US is also beginning to realize the possible fallout of Climate Change -> Climate Change could end farming in California
climate change could end farming in california; yes that is true if the snowpack is destroy that supplies to the nation`s top agriculture state
i don`t actually see how they can move ahead if up to 90% of the siera snowpack all, btut eliminating the natural storage system that feed`s the valley at the heart of the state.california supplies more than half of american fruits and vegetable.
key crops like cheries peaches and grapes are highly afected by the changes of climate

though this may not seems as a signifiant change, but it is enough to increase the intensity and frequency of extreme weather events such as the devastating heat wave that struct california in july 2006 lasting for 12 daysand causing 138 deaths and triggling rolling blackouts for more than 1.5 million customers due to spinking energy demands.

depending on the projection carbon-dioxide emisssion scenario use for modeling heat wave occurance may increase by a factor of 10 or more. in addition extremly high temperature currently expected to be seen once every 100 years.(analogous to a 100yrs flood) are projected to appear more frequently than once every 10yrs or even annually, by the second half of the 21st century.
