Staying in Denmark after Master

Hello all, This last month I've been busier than ever in my life. I've started my Master thesis after a good period of vacation back home. I decided to do my Master thesis at DTU, even though most of the people doing the master have decided to do it either with a company or at Risø; nice thing that you can chose where and how to do your final project. It's been three months where I've been studying really hard, but now there are some results and a lot of progress done. I'm so happy with my…See More

Almost done with all the courses

Hello folks, Finally tomorrow I'll be done with all my courses for my masters; I'll be taking a (well deserved) trip back home for this christmas and then start on the thesis next february. I think is a good time to describe how thinks are at a Danish university (or at least at DTU) for all the people interested: First of all you have to realize that Danish education is based on reports. This means that even though there are lectures, theory, reading, etc; the way you are expected to learn is…See More

Anemometer Calibration

Hello folks,This week we run some test on an anemometer (instrument use to measure wind speed and determine the viability of wind energy in a specific place) as a part in Wind Turbine Measurements. Really interesting since we worked in the wind tunnel at DTU.Also I am posting some picture from the first time I climbed a win turbine.See More

Break's over

Hello all,This week was the break week and I get to travel a little bit around Denmark. We rented a car with my roommates and took the road to Mon, a nice cliff's+forest in the southern part of Zealand... really nice view, and we got to see this beautiful place with autumn colors (which I love), the night when we were coming back to Copenhagen we stop in the middle of nowhere and turned off the lights to appreciate the stars,... They were so amazing, I got to see the milky-way and two shooting…See More

October Already

Hello all,I've been really busy this semester as I am about to start a special course that will end up as my master project next semester, it's also time to start preparing applications for PhD studies, so I'll take the GRE in the following month. I think is not required to be accepted as a PhD student at DTU, but I also want to apply to universities in USA... Even though I am already used to life in Denmark I think I will like to apply to the best universities in the states as well, ... we'll…See More

back again

Hello all,It's already the second week of this semester, and it seems like it's going to be a tough one,... so many things to do and it's only the beginning... I also have to define my thesis theme, but I have already spoken with one of the professors whom I will like to work with, and I'm sure that I'll do it in the advanced fluid dynamics field, so basically I just need to define what I will like to do...Not so much things to tell....See More

Back to DTU

Hello all,Tomorro I'll resume my studies at DTU, It'll be the last semester with courses since the last semester is going to be dedicated to thesis work. I am super motivated with the courses this semester since they are the most advanced courses in the mechanical branch of the wind energy program, so I guess I'll be pretty busy this fall. Even though the Danish courses are really nice, it seems (as expected) Danish is indeed a difficult language to learn, well I'll keep trying....See More

Re-starting Danish Course

Hi all,After a couple of months of traveling through Europe, this week I arrived to Copenhagen and immediately started a Danish Course. Even though most (not to say all) of the international students in Denmark do not speak Danish language and most of Danes speak good English, I have decided to give Danish a second chance (the first one being during the first semester of my studies). It would be a shame to spend 2 years in a country and not being able at least to say the basic sentences,…See More

Going to the Greek Islands

Hello all,Tomorrow I'll be heading to Crete. A friend and study-mate at DTU invite to his place for a couple of weeks, so off course it's going to be a once in a life time experience. Although I kind of regret not having been able to find a interesting summer job, I have been able to travel through Europe and off course go to great summer festivals and carnivales. There's also another thing, off course I'll be happy to escape from the rainy summer in CPH, although it's problably going to be a…See More

New place

Hello all,I just moved into a new place in downtown Copenhagen, I did it because I really enjoy this city and the best place to get to know a city it's downtown. I am so happy, I am living with a Spanish guy and a Colombian girl, both of them are phd students at DTU, and they are really nice. I've been hanging around the lakes and seizing all the parks in Copenhagen, I just love to go there and lie, take some sun and read a good book... Next week I'll be at Spain, I am going to San Fermin…See More

Saludos!!
