Help! Late Acceptance Letter: How do I get my visa on time?

Hello!I am an American student planning on studying in Denmark as an exchange student for the Spring semester of 2010, but am worried about the length of time it will take for my visa to process. I am still waiting on an acceptance letter and the "purple form" from my institution in Denmark. However, from all the sources I have looked at, it takes 2-3 months to process a visa.
