My Study in Denmark

How time flies!

How time flies! When you are busy and have deadlines to meet, it appears there are less than 24 hours in the day. You remember that not too long ago, I blogged about the project that I and my

group members have to work on in this semester. Today, we are already talking

about meeting the submission deadline early December. I wriggled myself out

from the workload to write this blog.…

Semester in full swing

The semester is now in full swing. Busy! Busy!! Busy!!! Sometimes one does not have time to eat ones food.

Presently, the talk of the world is care for the environment. In the energy sector, the talk is renewable energy. Wind energy is one of the renewable energies. In Denmark, it is

estimated that there is currently 25% wind penetration to the country’s electrical

grid. The…

Back from vacation

Hi great people, I hope you all had a nice time in the season. I am back for the next dosage of academic work. I prefer vacation – what do you prefer? Well, that is life. One has got to play

and work; otherwise… What?

As I told you last time that I had not decided, later I made up my mind to travel to Canada. The one-month stay was like one day. Please I am unable to share some…

Vacation

Now, for me, the curtain on the semester has been drawn. I just finished my project defense. It was a great time with my group guys – so great that we wished we remained together

throughout the study programme.

I am picking my bag to shuttle out for the summer holidays. I have not really decided which direction to go – not that I did not remember the holidays were coming. I felt…

carnival

Finally my project group got done with our project work on energy storage management for grid stability. The general idea was to simulate a model for the storage and management of the

energy from the wind so as to make it more reliable. It has been a very

challenging, but interesting experience.

This week we are having a… Continue

Nice weather

When I first came to Denmark (ending of August last year), I heard people saying that no day would pass by without rain. The statement seemed true then. But
these days, there is not frequent rainfall. For a couple of weeks there has not
been rainfall. It is just this week that we had drizzling for two days or so. I
think the weather is getting better is terms of not being rainy.

This week

Hi folks, I send you greetings. Hope you are pushing ahead. This period has been so demanding – tackling the group-project work to get done before the deadline.

The work has to be finished and submitted around the end of this month. All in

all, it is a very interesting exercise. This is one of the good things about

studying at Aalborg University, in particular, and other universities in

Denmark, in general. It may interest…

New semester

Hi People,

I hope you are all doing great. Activities for the new semester have begun in earnest. Last semester presented a lot of challenges but I am happy that they were put under control. This new semester

has unfolded yet different and greater challenges. Challenges! Challenges!! Challenges!!!

Is anybody asking when they will all end? They will definitely end when one…

How time flies!

How time flies! Now we are talking about handing in the project report. We are putting some finishing touches to it. It has been a great time and experience – working with other students as a group under the supervision of experienced lecturers. It is really great. After we hand in the report, we have to prepare power point slides for the final presentation on the project work. That will also be great. So, how are you doing out there? If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or… Continue

This week

This week we ended the classes for most of the courses in the semester. Now we have to squarely face the group projects so as to finish simulation, experimentation and report-writing. The project report is billed to be handed in not later than December 15, 2009. Also in the week, an idea about visiting a power plant for the course “Overvoltage Protection in Power Systems” was put up. I hope that the idea will materialize. Folks out there, how have you been doing? Have a nice weekend.

Hi readers!

Hi readers! I hope you are doing great. This period is really tight for me. I am working on the group project and preparing for five examinations in the semester. The courses are bulky but very interesting. After the examinations, I hope to visit one or two places and will let you know my experience about the visit. Have a nice weekend.

This week

The week has been very busy with classes and project-group meetings. There is hardly time to eat. It is difficult to find time to visit places. Examinations are very much around the corner. These are moments one wishes one could multiply oneself to be able to meet up with a lot of deadlines. This is weekend but you don’t have to talk about it now. Blessed are those who are free to celebrate the weekend. Have a nice weekend!

My fourth week in Denmark

The week has been a bit stressful because of presentation we (the Introductory Students) had to make. But it was fun at the end of the day. We have study and project groups; each group working on a particular project. My group is working on “Characterization of Photovoltaic (PV) Panels”. We will investigate the influence of disturbances, like shadow, on the power conversion efficiency of PV panels. The presentation we made was the preparatory part of the main project.

The university… Continue

A busy week

The week was busy with classes, laboratory exercises and group meetings. There has been a lot of work to do in a limited time. It is not bad – a good training to faces the challenges of existence. Dear reader, how do you train yourself for such challenges? Have a nice weekend.

My third week in Denmark

I am now in the heat of attending classes, doing assignments and having project-group meetings. The week has been very friendly – sun shine and no rainfall.

My second week in Denmark

This second week, I am done with registration exercises – both at the foreign office and the university. I have started classes in full swing. In universities and higher schools here in Denmark, there is the infrastructure and equipment for whatever study you want to embark upon. This is really great.

Also the system of education is such that, for technical courses, you have the opportunity of doing practical things. There is the “Problem-Based Learning” system which is intended to… Continue

My first week in Denmark

I arrived Denmark on the 28th of August 2009 (Friday afternoon) for a postgraduate study in Wind Power Systems under the programme COP 15 scholarship. As I set my feet on the soil of Denmark, I noticed that the environment is free - not as polluted as in some other developed countries that I have been to. This is a big plus to Denmark.

I was given a very good reception. I found out also that though the people have their own language (Danish), you (as a visitor) will not have a… Continue
